Hull Roundheads Christmas Raffle is now LIVE!
The Hull Roundheads were founded in Hull, East Yorkshire, Aug. 2018 on the basis of joining a global community of Inclusive Rugby where men of any gender, sexuality or race can come together for the love of the sport. It doesn’t matter if you’re gay, bi, straight or trans, the Hull Roundheads is a family with one purpose, to play rugby and to have fun playing!
Hull has an incredibly rich history and association with rugby, which is why we felt we needed to put the city’s stamp into the world of Inclusive Rugby.
Sport is truly one of the greatest socialization mechanisms in the world and physical activity is crucial to lifelong health and well-being; yet over and over, we hear how LGBTQ+ individuals avoid sports either due to discrimination or perceptions of the culture around sports being intimidating or unwelcoming. We set up the Hull Roundheads Union and Touch rugby teams as our own city’s part of the worldwide network of the IGR, to actively work to change that culture. Together, we’re proudly creating a safe space where LGBTQ+ people and their allies can come together to enjoy all the benefits of community, friendship, competition and fun that team sports generate. It’s an exciting, important and transformative journey, and one the Hull Roundheads would love you to join.
